Description
PEWTER GREEN TURTLE SMALL
The Green Turtle is probably the most common turtle in Australian seas, particularly along the Great Barrier Reef. This turtle is named for the green colour of its fat and grows about 1 metre in length. The back is usually a grey, olive green or grey green, marked with browns and blacks. Adults are mostly vegetarian and their diet consists of marine plants such as sea grasses and mangrove leaves. However, the young are thought to be mainly carnivorous.
